Sligo IT hosts virtual conferral ceremony

“No visas were required for the participants of Ireland’s first virtual conferring who tuned in from three different time zones as the formalities got under way at the Institute of Technology in Sligo yesterday. Fifteen students who completed the Masonite international occupational and safety programme at the institute received their certificates yesterday but only three of them were in the college conference room. Others watched the proceedings online on computer screens in Britain, France, Hungary, Turkey, Ukraine the Czech Republic and Poland.
