Now the students are revolting, and this time they are killing the spirit of goodwill

“When I initially wrote my Irish Times article a year ago I knew there would be a significant back lash from Union hacks. I never went into the Student Movement to make friends, although I have made several lasting friendships that I hope will always continue. I don’t intend in justifying what I wrote in this post, as I still stand by everything it and I have already done so on Tubridy and in other interviews, and I certainly will not withdraw my belief that students are more concerned with getting their first Opel Astra than changing the world – thousands of students marching to protect themselves is not a selfless world changing act …” (more)
