Miscreant Universities reveal the Emperor’s New Clothes

Ireland“In his daily contribution to the blogosphere, the President of Dublin City University (DCU), Ferdinand Von Prondzynski reacts strongly to an article in the Irish Independent penned by Marc Coleman (a radio economist) that blasts the public service and in particular, the third level sector, as ridden with cronyism and wasteful of public monies. In his post, the President responds to Coleman’s implicit criticism of University management in Ireland. Coleman boldly asks whether Irish universities will be forced to publish accounts. The President’s response is interesting. ‘As far as I am aware, all universities do publish their accounts. Certainly DCU does.’ As of last August, it was widely reported in the media that Dublin City University had not published it accounts since 2002 …” (more)
