Student louts in roll call of shame

UK“The behaviour of some of Northern Ireland’s brightest young people was under scrutiny today after it emerged that over 520 university students were disciplined last year for anti-social behaviour. The startling figure – for the academic year 2008/09 – includes fines, warnings and suspension for drunkeness, disturbances and trouble-making by students at Queen’s and the University of Ulster. Among them are third-level students who went on the rampage in the Holyland area of Belfast on St Patrick’s Day this year setting cars alight as well as turning bins upside down and emptying them onto the streets …” (more)
