Public sector pension system set for overhaul

Ireland“The government is set to propose sweeping changes to the public sector pension system, with a new report stating that the current regime is unsustainable and lacks transparency. The report by the Comptroller & Auditor General highlights the spiralling costs of public sector pensions and the gulf between pension payments and entitlements in the public and private sectors. The report was submitted to the Department of Finance in recent days.
