Revision time for the CAO

Ireland“The CAO points system for college entry has come under attack from Government education advisers. Its ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach does not suit all students, according to the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NCCA). The council, which advises Education Minister Batt O’Keeffe on the primary and second-level curricula, say points have become a ‘negative force’ in education. The NCCA makes its criticism in a submission to the National Strategy for Higher Education, which is drawing up a blueprint for third-level into the future …” (more)
