Galway’s ‘Godless College’ celebrates 160 years

Ireland“The National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) celebrated 160 years of third level education in Galway last month. On Tuesday 30 October 1849, it opened its doors as Queen’s College Galway to 68 students. However, one source states that it was 91 students and 37 professors.
