Funding cuts threaten Oxford University tutorial system

“Cash to higher education will be reduced by £180 million next year in a bid to save money. The budget cuts include the withdrawal of nearly £10 million allocated to the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Oxford has warned that its distinctive tutorial system, the one-to-one teaching regarded as vital to the ancient institution’s world class ranking, will have to be scrapped if the cuts are made …” (more)
