Leiden Ranking

“The CWTS Leiden Ranking 2013 measures the scientific performance of 500 major universities worldwide. Using a sophisticated set of bibliometric indicators, the ranking aims to provide highly accurate measurements of the scientific impact of universities and of universities’ involvement in scientific collaboration …” (more). Data is here.

The ranking is based on the Web of Science database, and so while it now purports to cover all fields of “science”, the hard sciences are much better served than the humanities. The 2012/2013 rankings distinguish between 5 different areas:
