Gogarty to quit education post in policy row

“Green education spokesman Paul Gogarty will today announce that he is relinquishing his position – although he will stay in the party he joined as a boy. The Dublin Mid West TD has been deeply unhappy with the direction of his party of late, and reached breaking point at the Green Party convention held in Wexford during the weekend. Mr Gogarty was annoyed by the passing of a motion that would have given party councillors a role in reviewing education policy, which he felt was trespassing on his area of responsibility.
