Graduates facing ban on moving overseas

Ireland“New graduates could be banned from emigrating under the latest emergency budget proposals. The move, designed to stop those who have completed college from leaving the country without paying back student loans, could be introduced from next year. It is believed education officials have already formulated plans for the re-introduction of third-level fees, which will take the form of student loans for those starting college from 2010. The fees will then be paid back in the form of a student levy when the graduate starts working.
