Ireland“The Government has moved to substantially increase ‘frontier research’ by allocating €30 million to third level institutions in 36 projects approved by the Irish Research Council.     It’s hardly a giant step forward in funding basic research in science, in comparison with the large coffers of SFI …and the few successful science projects seem to be more applied than fundamental.
