Trinity Gets €2.7m from Fáilte Ireland for Old Library Revamp

Ireland“Trinity has received a grant of €2.7 million from Fáilte Ireland, Ireland’s government body for tourism, towards the overhaul of its Old Library. The reconfiguration of the 300-year-old building is part of a College strategy to improve the conditions in a library that houses some of its oldest manuscripts and book collections …” (more)

8% Increase in Book of Kells Visitor Numbers

Ireland“Visitor numbers to the Book of Kells exhibition in Trinity have increased by almost 8% since last year, with the site climbing one place in the list of Ireland’s top ten tourist attractions. 1,057,642 people visited the world-famous medieval manuscript and accompanying exhibition last year, an increase of 7.5% from 983,410 in 2017 …” (more)
